M Mantra - Man means mind, tra-ng means wave of the mind. A sound current and rhythm used with reverence that tunes into the subconscious and gives control of the mind through the stimulation of meridian points in the mouth and through its meaning, pattern of energy, resonance and power of naad.
Maya - The creative power of the Creator that restricts and limits, taking the ineffable into the realm of the measurable, leading us to identify with the ego and things. Often thought of as the illusion that blocks us reality, Maya can be used to serve and express higher consciousness and spirit.
Meditation - A process of deep concentration or merging the psyche into an object or state of consciousness. Meditation releases unconscious thoughts and habits and builds the spontaneous and intuitive link to awareness.
Meditative Mind - A mind that is sychronized with the cosmic magnetic field and therefore connected to all humans, all existences and the material plane. That synchronization gives harmony and guidance to one's projection, reception, attitudes and understanding.
Mudra - Seal. Meditation postures that seal the flow of energy; usually refers to hand positions that seal the body's energy flow in a particular pattern during yoga exercises and meditation. By stretching, crossing, curling and touching fingers to other fingers and areas of the hand, a mudra interrelates the qualities, emotions and behaviors of the body and brain associated with each finger:
Thumb - Ego, Id. Index finger - Jupiter, expansion, wisdom. Middle finger - Saturn, responsibility and courage. Ring finger - Sun, energy, health and physical vitality. Little finger - Mercury, communication with others and the self.
Generally, the left side hand is receptive, the right side is projective. The left hand relates to right brain activity and the right hand relates to left brain activity.
N Naad - The inner sound current present in all languages, through all times. It is the vibrational expression of the Absolute, the purest meaning of a word.
Nam - God's Name; manifest identity, form or expression of the Essence.
Navel Point - The area of the body surrounding and under the umbilicus that accumulates and stores life force. It a strong pulse is centered directly beneath the navel, one's life force and health are also strong. The navel point correlates with the third chakra.

Meditation - A pranayama for mental composure. To do, sit straight in a cross-legged position. Deeply inhale in 20 seconds, filling the lungs. Hold the breath for 20 seconds. Exhale completely in 20 seconds. This can be done for up to 31 minutes.

Pawan/Pavan Guru - Guru represented as the breath. The transformative power and wisdom embodied in conscious breathing.
Prabhupati - Sovereign Lord. Mastery of God Consciousness.
Prakirti - Transcendental Nature; creation as it can be experienced. It is formed from the motion and interaction of the gunas and evolved from Original Consciousness.
Prana The universal life force; subtle energy tha gives us life from breath to breath. Prana regulates the modes and moods of the mind.
Pranayama - Yogic breathing patterns or exercises.
Pratyahar - Synchronization of thoughts with the Infinite; control of the mind through withdrawal of the senses, coming to a state of zero, shuniya.
Psyche - Universal consciousness that permeates every existence.
Purkha - The Being of exisitence; Creator.
Purusha - The transcendental self, the embodiment of unlimited consciousness that forms the subtle body.
