How We Helped

The Khalsa Council Executive Committee narrowed their focus to two options for the their April Khalsa Council meetings as described in this email to me from a member of the Mother Ashram in Espanola.

It was an opportunity for concerned people to sign one of the petitions toward restoration of conscious leadership for 3HO businesses and nonprofits:

Dear Guruprem Kaur Khalsa,

March 28th there was a meeting of the Khalsa Council Executive Committee. At this meeting a nearly unanimous vote carried a motion (with only one member opposing and one member abstaining). The Committee vote carried a motion that the Khalsa Council in the April 2009 session will address whether to approve a Statement of No Confidence or a Demand of Resignation for all of the Members of the Unto Infinity Board.

This is do in large part the Petitions from the Espanola, Herndon and Los Angeles communities as well as a considerable number of Position Papers.

Your voice has made an impact. Now there is a short window of opportunity to express to the Khalsa Council how you want to be represented before they meet on April 22nd. We have two major tools available to us. First are the Petitions, by signing it has shown the Khalsa Council, the Unto Infinity Board and the World at Large where you stand.

There are currently 100 signers on the Espanola Petition and 92 signers on the Herndon Petition. I am calling on everyone who has signed to find 5 more Sangat Members to sign also. A goal of 500 signatures has been set.

Second, there has been a Legal Fund established. Contributions are being accepted from $5 to $108. More than the dollar amount, more than signing the Petition it shows verifiable commitment to see this through. A goal of 100 contributions of $108 and 100 contributions of $5 or more has been set.

To contribute, reply in e-mail and I will send you instructions.

As you have signed already the petition, you understand this.

If we ignore all the Legal argument, ignore what may or may not be rumor and conjecture, we are left at one point. Can we continue to have an organization with a basis of Sikh Dharma if our leaders are not living as Sikhs?

If we can not expect the Rahit of Guru Gobind Singh from our Leaders, we can not expect that from anyone in our community. If we can not expect this code of conduct anywhere in our Organization, we can no longer exist as an Organization with Sikh Dharma as the Base.

We can not have a Dharma lead by people who do not believe in the Dharma.

Humbly,

Mukhtiar Singh Khalsa

Hukam, (SGGS p. 734) from the Golden Temple of Amritsar on April 8, 2009, the day of this posting:

SOOHEE, FOURTH GURU

That mortal, with whom the Lord is pleased, repeats the Glorious Praises of the Lord. He alone is a devotee, and he alone is approved. How can his glory be described? Within his heart, the Primal Lord, the Lord God, abides. || 1 ||

Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe; focus your meditation on the True Guru. || 1 || Pause ||

He is the True Guru — service to the True Guru is fruitful and rewarding. By this service, the greatest treasure is obtained. The faithless cynics in their love of duality and sensual desires, harbor foul-smelling urges. They are totally useless and ignorant.|| 2 ||

One who has faith, — his singing is approved. He is honored in the Court of the Lord. Those who lack faith may close their eyes, hypocritically pretending and faking devotion, but their false pretenses shall soon wear off. || 3 ||

My soul and body are totally Yours, Lord; You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, my Primal Lord God. So speaks servant Nanak, the slave of Your slaves; as You make me speak, so do I speak. || 4 || 4 || 11 ||
