Waheguru is the "Wow!" realization of God, as Guru spontaneously transforms darkness, GU, into ROO--light. To understand this mantra's power and vastness within you, reach your arms up to the heavens, chant "Waheguru!" and imagine light bursting from darkness and flooding the Cosmos. Force yourself to chant "Waheguru!" while applying overwhelming emotions--anger, fear, frenzy, grief, to dispel illusion. However it comes out is okay. Chant "Waheguru!" loudly, joyfully, while taking a cold shower first thing in the morning to shed the cold and burn off your karmas. Silently chant "Waheguru!" with the motion of Breath of Fire to energize your electro-magnetic field and activate your chakras. ""Waheguru!" does not need a translation to be understood. Discover its meaning through your personal experience. Like all mantras in pure Nadh, ""Waheguru!" is what it feels and sounds like.
Yogi Bhajan gave a clear technology for churning "Waheguru!" to create Tapa, inner heat that creates the most optimum, blissful effect, even when "Waheguru!" is chanted silently:
WAH - at the Navel: Keeping a straight spine, as you pull in on the navel pucker the lips in an exaggerated way as you open the mouth to create the sensation of "WAH". Wah is created like a large drop of water dripping from a faucet.
HE - at the Heart: (pronounced "HAY")- With a smile, raise the chest and pull the navel up, bringing "HE" into your heart.
GU - (like the "GO" of "GOOD") at the Throat: Pull the chin in towards the neck without bending down the head, pucker the lips as in a kiss while mentally or verbally focusing "GU" at the third eye.
RU - (pronounced "ROO") Keeping the spine straight, relax the neck lock and smoothly let "RU" flow down the nose to the navel to begin again.
