Yogiji has taught us that the most powerful mantras are those that alternate between the finite and the Infinite. I have been wondering how this applies to Guru Ram Das, the Lord of Miracles, in “Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru.” Like Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das is God to me—making two Infinites!
This morning while chanting to Guru Ram Das during morning sadhana, my wonderment was answered with vast, pristine clarity.
As I chanted “Guru, Guru,” I saw myself scooping up a ball of Divine Light with my hands “Guru” meaning light that dispels all darkness.
On “Wah” I tossed this ball of Light high into the sky,
Where on “Hay” the light shined brilliantly in the heavens As the Light of God.
On the next “Guru” God’s Light shone down towards earth,
Upon a beautiful, richly colored canopy that was Guru Ram Das, On "Guru Ram Das."
With the last "Guru" God’s Light passed through this canopy Of Guru Ram Das Like sweet rain Drenching me With Guru Ram Das’s love And wondrous blessings.
Wahe Guru!
So the cycle continued. As I gathered up the Light and tossed it into the heavens, each repetition showered blessings down wherever Guru Ram Das's canopy was imagined to be, anywhere in the world, wrapped around the world, or upon the minutest point of need.
When my teacher called me this morning and heard what I had seen he said it was a gift, "like gifts mentioned in Guru Nanak’s Japji, of “Asankh”—countless blessings." Wahe Guru!
